Riesling Ried Steinhaus 2017
Steinhaus, literally Stonehouse, is the steepest of the Kamptal vineyards. It probably takes its name from the small stone huts that can be found spread along the terraces. It is characterized by its small and narrow terraces. The vines grow on a rough, stony soil formed of gneiss and quartz, which produces a very unique type of Riesling with cool minerality.
[Ried = Austrian Term for single vineyard, same meaning as “Lage”]
