Grüner Veltliner Maximum 2016
This Veltliner is sourced from our oldest vines in our best crus. Only the most valuable grapes of a vintage remain on the vine during the main picking season and are harvested only after they have reached their full flavour concentration. Before bottling the wine spends at least two winters on the lees in a big acacia barrel. A Signatur-Veltliner from the Hiedler Estate.

Selective harvest by hand from late October to early November. Destemmed. Without sulphurisation of the grape must or juice. Fermentation in a big acacaia casky with cultivated local yeast. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Matured in cask on the lees for over two winters. Bottled in April 2018.
Opens up with a cool and herbal nose, joined by some yellow pear and rosehip, white flowers, grated hazelnuts, some oolong tea; intriguing on the palate, juicy apple slices, focused fruit, obvious minerality with a fine & creamy substructure, a hint of acacia honey, youthful glow, concentrated & long finish.
